This is not a workout class or a rushed dance floor. Expect grown-folk music, clean line dances, and a relaxed day party atmosphere focused on rhythm, flow, and enjoying the moment. NCNW Sacramento Valley Section and the National Pan-Hellenic Council, Sacramento Chapter, are hosting a daylong Summit to improve the health of Black women and babies.

The Summit will explore the intersectionality between these

Social Determinants of Health:

• Health

• Mental health

• Black maternal and infant mortality

• Smoking/vaping/hookah

• Update on CA Assembly Bill 2319.

Attendees can network with thought leaders, service organizations, medical providers, and government agencies, and participate in a Black Baby Doll Drive to support children in foster care and local community initiatives.

Youth Symposium Spotlight: A Legacy of Empowerment

Every year, on the second Saturday in March, Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. unites to host the Youth Symposium, a transformative event designed to equip young people with the knowledge and skills they need to thrive.

Held simultaneously across the nation, this impactful program was pioneered by the late Dr. LaRona J. Morris, Past Grand Basileus (1996-2000). Her vision was to create a safe and supportive space to address the most pressing challenges facing our youth, including mental health, self-esteem, financial literacy, healthy relationships, and more.
